We had so many takers for this that we turned the programme upside down! 32 children and 19 leaders made Easter Gardens, Chocolate nests, Easter cards, an altar frontal for St Mark’s, Peaslake and painted crosses while exploring what the Easter story is all about. The most moving time was reflecting on what the cross of Jesus means, having carried a huge cross around St Mark’s into which each of us had hammered nails. We sang ‘Thank you Jesus for loving me’. We had our own life-sized tomb in OSR porch. The excitement was heightened when it was dramatically discovered to now be empty – thanks to Ken Mead’s acting talents!
Huge thanks go to the team, Cathy, Jinny, Jude, Jane, Paula, Martin and Michelle and all the teens. Charlie Pitcher on guitar was a big success (his talent has now been outed!).
