Emma Appointed Our New Director of Music

Posted by Jude Pitcher on Monday, 10th February 2014

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Emma Woodhouse to the position of Music Director.  A very faithful member of the Choir, Emma took on the role of Choir Trainer last May and has since shown wonderful musical leadership skills.  This culminated in what many have said to be the best Nine Lessons and Carols Service of recent years.  Emma’s role will include leading Tuesday evening Choir practices, conducting at services and playing a major role in choosing music for services and festivals, in liaison with the Ministry Team.  Working together, we hope to encourage other musical contributions into Parish life, including instrumentalists of all ages (as was witnessed at Peaslake on Christmas Day).  Our two main organists, Matthew O’Sullivan and George Wood, and our pianist, Richard Good, have indicated a willingness to continue to play their part in supporting our worship in 2014.
