We are fortunate to have many families with children in our Parish, so we have dedicated a special amount of time to preparing services and groups designed to accommodate them.
Our holiday club will return in 2017.
This is our regular Sunday School Group for children 4 – 11, and it is held at Shere School Hall on the second Sunday of each month. The group meets at the Hall at 9:45am, while the adults attend the service at St James’ at 10am. The children take part in drama, singing, crafts, quizzes and then join the adults in church at 11am. For children under 4 there is a creche set up in the Vestry at St James’. This is a very popular group with children and parents alike. If you would like more information, please contact Rev. All Age Communion
Using Common Worship and accessible to everyone, there are hymns, a straightforward Liturgy with Intercessions often read by mums, dads & youngsters, Bible readings and/or talk or drama merging into a family friendly Communion. There’s a shorter service especially for families with young children [without Communion] on the 2nd Sunday of the month in Shere.
This is our “mini service” especially designed for babies and toddlers, along with their mothers, fathers, grannies, nannies or carers. This service is 30min long, and incorporates a short Bible story (often with actions, songs or props), singing some fun songs, and sometimes there is a craft or prayer activity, followed by colouring and tea & biscuits.
There’s a break for Christmas, Easter, Bank Holidays and the summer holidays.
Little Fishes services are indicated by
